There’s a moment, between April and May, when the Po Delta becomes something magical. The fields turn bright green, migratory birds return, the air smells of grass and water. It’s our favorite time.
The valleys in bloom
The fishing valleys awaken. The reed beds are full of life: coots, mallards, herons fishing patiently. If you arrive at dawn, you can witness a spectacle that no photo can capture.
Bring binoculars. And plenty of patience. Animals reveal themselves to those who know how to wait.
The cycling paths
In spring, cycling along the embankments is a pleasure. Temperatures are mild, the wind is not yet summer wind, colors are at their maximum intensity.
Our favorite route? From Adria towards Rosolina, following the course of the river. About 20 kilometers of absolute peace.
The flamingos return
In spring the flamingo colonies grow larger. You can see them in the salt pans of Comacchio or in the Sacca di Scardovari. They’re there, pink against the blue sky, like a painting.
